Create A Daily Prayer Routine
(The Rule of St Benedict, 4: 46-49): ‘Yearn for everlasting life with holy desire. Day by day remind yourself that you are going to die. Hour by hour keep careful watch over all you do, aware that God’s gaze is upon you, wherever you may be.’
Many are those that struggle to find time for daily prayer and scripture reading in their life. Yet, the benefits of doing so are considerable, and those that have come to integrate time into their day for prayer, can and do attest to the positive affects of doing so.
If you struggle to find time for daily prayer in your life, begin by taking just five minutes in the morning before doing anything else. That’s how you start. If mornings are too hectic, focus instead on an evening prayer just before going to bed, or even while laying in bed.
Establishing a life that includes prayer, even if just reciting The Lord’s Prayer, it is a place to start and build upon. It can be rough at first, but praying gets easier with practice, desire, and sincerity. This site, Daily Catholic Prayer, along with our YouTube channel, can provide you with the assistance to begin a routine of daily prayer.
